Hello, world. I'm Kamal.

I am interested in the gap between what technology can do and what people actually use, and in closing it.

Although my background is in engineering, software, and machine learning, I consider product to be my primary specialty. I also love the unglamorous half of the work: deciding what to leave out, naming things precisely, and noticing when something feels wrong before anyone can explain why.

Most of all, I like building products. GitHub Wrapped grew to 10k+ daily active users, and Neat, which I cofounded, raised funding from Soma Capital and Forum Ventures.

I have also provided development, product, and strategy consulting services to startups like Gitpod, Offsite and Revya, and to established organizations like WWF, Ample and Pure Gold Group, among others.
